Courage
I have had a lot of people tell me lately how courageous I am. Many people have said "I could never do what you are doing". Well, yes you could. All of us, when faced with something unimaginable, can not only face it but look it in the eyes and understand what needs to happen. Sometimes it feels like I am looking in from the outside and this really isn't happening to me - but it is. It is happening to me, and my family, and in some way it is happening to you too. I think it is all about how you look at it, how you view the situation, that effects the outcome. I am not courageous, I am not brave. I have to do this, I don't have a choice. My strength comes from God and family and friends. There is something pretty humbling about being stripped of your outer shell and you are left exposed and weak. It is at this point that you realize that we are all just people, normal everyday people, trying to get along in this world and we are nothing without each other.

What you say is true, but give yourself some credit (and a great big hug) for getting through this with grace, humility and style. I dare say most people get through this with more of a tail-between-the-legs attitude than your rockin' LEMME AT 'EM style.
My Mom sends her love, by the way. She asks about you, prays for you and thinks about you and your family constantly. I swear she's as bad as I am.

I agree with what you're saying, that we don't know we have the strength to deal with something until we are presented with the situation--because God provides what we need. But, I also agree with Sally, that you are exhibiting such grace, humility and style which speaks to me about your faith. God can give us those things, but we have to let Him. I want to see you in person, but I think I'm getting pink eye now. Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.
i concur with both sally and joy above! ;) you are right, you have no choice but to "deal", but HOW you are dealing is where your courage and spirit are shining!!
