Lunch

Today was a really great day.  I was able to go to lunch with my Dad - just the two of us.   We went out for Chicago style hot dogs at a dive restaurant and it was perfect.  We talked about all kinds of things.  Mostly deeper subjects.  It was so nice to have that kind of conversation with him again.  It is hard to do that on the phone, especially with children in the background etc.  It has been almost 4 years since I saw my Dad last and that is far too long.  I miss him.  I hope he knows how incredibly talented he is, how intelligent he is, how kind and compassionate he is, how much he is loved.  I hope he knows that he deserves a wonderful life, a fun and successful life, a life full of adventure, love, faith and joy.  I want him to know that yes he does deserve it and yes he can achieve it - just like all of us deserve and can achieve our own dreams.  Life has handed him many ups and downs and I pray that this next chapter is a steady climb up.  I love you Papa.
